It was once called “the island that was erased from the map” because of its poison gas factories.

Even today, the site of the former poison gas factory still remains.

There is also a poison gas museum on the island.

It is said that many people were killed during the production of poison gas.

The Poison Gas Museum is a place where materials related to poison gas are exhibited in order to convey the tragedy of the war to many people and to prevent the war from ever repeating itself.

Okunojima is a family-friendly island!

Okunojima Island is designated as a national park and is known as a habitat for approximately 500 to 600 rabbits!

It is a popular tourist spot visited by many tourists, both domestic and international, in search of healing!

There are various facilities on the island, including a vacation village and visitor center where visitors can enjoy lodging, hot springs, and local cuisine.

Camping, cycling, tennis, and fishing can also be enjoyed on Okunojima, and in summer the bathing beach and outdoor swimming pool are open!
