How to take the Miyajima Ferry by car

You can drive from either JR West Japan Miyajima Ferry or Miyajima Matsudai Kisen Ferry, but there are differences in where to board and how to pay the fare, so we will explain each!

For JR West Miyajima Ferry

How to get on the JR Nishi-Nippon Miyajima Ferry by car

(1) Wait for the arrow around the front of the Miyajima Ferry Terminal.

(2) Proceed in the direction of the arrow on the white line.

(3) Proceed in the direction of travel and follow the directions.

(4) Proceed to where the stop is located.

(5) Proceed from the stop position to the waiting area.

(6) Board the boat when the attendant gives you a signal from the waiting area.

For Miyajima Matsudai Kisen Ferry

How to take the Miyajima Matsudai Kisen ferry by car

The location will be different if you are getting on Miyajima Matsudai Kisen by car, so the explanation is given assuming that you are driving along Route 2 along the national highway toward Otake.

(1) From JR Miyajima-guchi Station, turn left at the first street.

(2) Follow the directions.
 

(3) There is another sign, so follow the same directions as in (2).

(4) Cross the railroad crossing.

(5) Purchase a ticket at the ticket office. (Follow the instructions of the attendant.)

(6) Wait at the waiting area.

There are two things to keep in mind when using the Miyajima Matsudai Kisen ferry. They are as follows.

1.The ferry terminal for Miyajima by car is located a short distance from the front of Miyajima Ferry!
2.Pay the fare to the attendant!
